Mazhabally I am Hanafiyyah of course and I have a whole list of books that I'm reading but I'm not sure where to put it. I started reading Al Muwatta'a and I have already read most of it. I have been discussing the differences between the views of Abu Hanifah and of Al Shafi'i. I'm currently reading Al Rashid Al Mahdi. I've read Al Muwatta'a, all of the Tawheed and Duaa's and many other books from the Hanafiyyah tradition. I have some books from the Shafii tradition (Al Jawami, Al Musannafi, Al Muwatta'a). I have also studied Al Muwatta'a and Al Zawaid al Hindiyya of Al Shafi'i and many books by Al Muwatta'a and Al Zawaid al Hindiyya of Al Shafi'i. I have also read Al Qisas wal Sanad of Al Majlis al Ashraaf. All of that being said, if someone were to ask me which books are the most important to study I would say: Al Muwatta'a, followed by Al Zawaid al Hindiyya of Al Shafi'i. I would like to know of the differences between the views of the two prominent schools of Sunni fiqh and whether or not they are similar or if there are major differences. I would also like to know the differences between the views of the four Imams.
