Beginning with Windows XP, the Windows NT/2000/95 legacy TMS Unicode Component Pack, Delphi 7, 2007/C++Builder 2007/XE 1, 2, 3, 4 are no longer supported. VCL controls are added to Unicode with version 2.5.0.1 while the API is still in beta. The included components are compatible with all Unicode versions. The API used with the above controls are based on the latest Win32 Unicode APIs - Delphi 2009 and C++Builder 2009. The API is available in both Delphi 2009 and C++Builder 2009.

Using the new controls, Delphi/C++Builder applications can take advantage of the new Unicode capabilities. The new controls are compatible with almost any international keyboard and it works well with almost any IME. Note that some of the controls added are the same controls that were in the VCL Unicode Component Pack, Delphi 7, 2007/C++Builder 2007/XE 1, 2, 3, 4.

In addition, these components are compatible with both Delphi 2009 and C++Builder 2009. For Delphi 2009, the new controls are Unicode enabled and work with all Unicode versions (Unicode 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, 7.0).
