In the opening scene, a man is terrified and cowers as a boy roughly taunts him, threatening to kill him. In the closing moments of the movie, we learn that the man is the son of Leatherface, the slasher of the title. It's revealed that Leatherface killed his mother to get the knife that he uses to mutilate his victims. Leatherface, in fact, has been hunting them for years. He is so obsessed with their deaths that he plans to have his mother's face carved on him. He finally achieves this goal.

The movie then shows the bloody aftermath of the attack, as Leatherface kills Sally by cutting off her head with a chainsaw. Before he can finish carving his mother's image into his body, Leatherface is interrupted by the arrival of two lawmen. Dennis then escapes into the woods, where he finds the body of Sally with her head cut off. Dennis continues his journey to his mother's house, where he is attacked by Leatherface.

Bella's pregnancy keeps her from working. Instead, she, Edward and the newborn Renesmee spend their time at the lake. Victoria is unimpressed by her reasoning and turns Bella, along with the newborn, Renesmee, into vampires.
