Freddy's raspy snarls are indeed awesome to hear but the gags with him are just silly and unnecessary. The supporting cast, including Nancy Allen and Robert Englund are also cool to listen to, but the ghosts coming back from the dead are boring and the previous film's characters are just plain stupid.
